Assembly of AHAYAHA
Followers of The Way
Ekklesia
The word "Ekklesia"
is the original Greek word we find in Scripture which many
people have incorrectly translated into the English word "Church" (see
https://ayashaya.com/church.html).
But if "church" is the wrong word to use for "Ekklesia," then what is the right word, or at least the right concept? The Greek word "ekklesia" is comprised of two Greek words: ek, meaning "out," & kaleo, meaning "to call." So it literally means "to call out" (the assembly)... The "ekklesia in the wilderness" consisted of those called out of physical Egypt; the New Testament Ekklesia are those called out of the spiritual Egypt of false belief and practice dominating this world, so that they may be "in the world but not of the world" (John 17:6-21). When Messiah AYASHAYA said, "I will build My ekklesia" (Matthew 16:18), He was not describing an organization with buildings, offices, services, and activities. He was implying the people, the assembly of all believers CALLED OUT of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9-10). The Almighty AHAYAHA's ekklesia is not a denominational institution or other man-made organization; rather it is the people, the assembly of all believers in Messiah AYASHAYA, not identified with any particular group or place people might establish, but embracing all who fit the Bible's qualifications (Matthew 12:48-50, John 3:16-36, Romans 5:8-9ff, Romans 10:9-13, 1 Corinthians 15:1-5ff, Ephesians 2:8-10, & 1 John 5:1-13). So, when the biblical writers use ekklesia in a context involving AHAYAHA and His people, they are drawing attention to the transcendent purpose for which The Almighty calls them out. In a majority of scriptures, the ekklesia is the whole of AHAYAHA's people, of which a congregation, a denomination, or a corporate entity form but a part. Remember the classical Greek usage: Ekklesia included ALL the citizens of Athens, called out to partake in influential decisions that affect their entire community and way of life, as a governing ASSEMBLY. So, it's not just a "congregation" or "gathering" or "fellowship" (which may or may not have governing authority) but an actual ASSEMBLY of ALL people with real power to affect and influence the community and the world in which they live. An army parallel may help illustrate the point... A division is part of an army. The army has several divisions. So then a division is an element of a greater army, and the army in turn is part of something even greater, the nation. Ekklesia, in this analogy, is the ENTIRE NATION of people who together act as one entity with the ability to enforce real change. In the Bible, it is most often used in this sense. To be part of the ekklesia of Messiah AYASHAYA, to be a follower of The Way, is therefore not to be part of a denomination, building, institution, worship service, liturgy, event, activity, Bible study, or other agency or some physical location. Rather, it is to be part of an assembly of "a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, AHAYAHA's own special people, called out of darkness into His marvelous Light." (1 Peter 2:9-10). It's NOT a building. It's NOT a membership. It's NOT a place. It's NOT an event. It's NOT a service. It's NOT a liturgy. It's NOT an organization, or even an institution. It's the assembly of all AHAYAHA's holy people whom He has lovingly called out to be... AYASHAYA's bride (Hosea 2:16; Revelation 3:12, 21:2-10, 22:17) And as His bride, transformed & equipped with The Truth, you are.... 1. A Royal Warrior Priest (aka "Warrior-Priest-King") A member of the chosen, holy, royal priesthood of The Almighty, fighting as a holy warrior against dark powers in spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:10-20; 2 Timothy 2:3; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10) 2. A Temple Steward As His temple (of The Holy Spirit), you are as a royal priest to take care of that holy temple, which is your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10). You must make sure to take care of His temple - your body - which does not belong to you, but to The One Who bought you with His blood (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:17-19ff). And you are a steward of The Almighty and must responsibly manage not only His temple, but also what He has given you (time, assets, money, skills, talents, knowledge, relationships, health, strength, wisdom, intelligence, opportunities, etc.). You are fully accountable to Him for what you have done with what He has given you during your "short stay" here in this mortal life (cf. Matthew 25:14-30; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 1 Peter 1:17-19ff). 3. An Ambassador Slave Child As His royal warrior priest & temple steward, you are also AHAYAHA's ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20), serving as His slave (original Greek word in The Bible translated into "servant" is "doulos" - singular, or "douloi" - plural, and literally means "slave") of righteousness (Romans 6:18) as He purchased you with His blood (Matthew 13:44-45; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 7:22-23, 15:1-4; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 22:3). You are who you are because of Him, in Him, by Him, through Him, & for Him (Ephesians 2:8-10). And you are His child (Acts 17:29; 1 John 3:1). |
